Port and Cruise Transport Service

Port Miami (Port of Miami)

One in seven of all the world’s cruise passengers start from Miami. PortMiami is the "Cruise Capital of the World" and "Cargo Gateway of the Americas." It has been the the number one cruise/passenger port in the world for well over two decades with the largest cruise ships in the world. More passengers travel through Port Miami terminals than any other Port in the world. Ships from 13 cruise lines leave from Port Miami; Azamara Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Costa Cruises, Crystal Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Resorts World Bimini and Royal Caribbean International. Some of these ships carry up to 5,000 passengers. Two more cruise lines are expected by the Summer of 2014.

The port also ships containerized cargo, vehicles and industrial equipment. It is the largest container port in the state of Florida and ninth in the United States.

This is a large port with over four million cruise passengers and 7.4 million tons of cargo, so it is not surprising that it can feel very confusing when trying to find your destination.

There are eight different passenger terminals. Available Car Service drivers are familiar with the port and the best way to get you to your terminal and your luggage to the best drop-off area to be delivered to your cabin. You carry nothing but your hand luggage. We will drop you directly in front of your terminal for quick and easy check-in and boarding.

Your Documents
Keep identification and cruise documents handy.  Everyone over 18-years old will have to show a government-issued photo ID at the security check point. You will need your cruise documents, photo identification and proof of citizenship to check in.

Baggage
Be sure all of your bags are securely labeled with the baggage tags provided by your cruise line. Each tag should have your name and cabin number. Available Car Service will help you load your bags and assist you at the terminal. Porters at the front of the terminal collect bags, load them aboard ship and deliver them to your cabin. If needed, porters have additional tags.

Do not put your documents, medication, valuables, liquids or fragile items in your checked baggage.

When to Board

Check your information, but you will likely be allowed to board any time after 11 in the morning; three or more hours before the ship sails.

Passengers should arrive at least two hours prior to departure. Check with your cruise line for the latest embarkation information.

What's Next?

After you check-in, you will receive a guest identification card that will serve as your identification on-board and will be used when embarking and disembarking the ship at ports on your itinerary and allow you to make on-board purchases.

As you walk up the gangway, a member of the cruise staff will welcome you aboard.

How much time will I need from the airport?

You will need to have time to claim your luggage. You know how much you are bringing. If you are using Available Car Service, you won't have the additional time and hassle of waiting for a crowded shuttle or bus or finding a cab to crush into with all of your bags.

Everyone in the car over 18-years old will have to show a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport at the security check point, so have them readily available. Have your cruise documents handy.

Available Car Service will take you straight to baggage check-in at your terminal.

You will also need to allow time to fill out forms and documents at the terminal before you embark.
